As restorative architects, we’re big fans of wood for construction. A space defined by wood automatically creates an emotional connection to nature.
Wood is an easily renewable resource. This makes it ideal for building, as long as it’s responsibly sourced, local and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. Wood also requires less embodied energy as a building material, compared to alternatives such as concrete and steel that require substantial fossil fuels to create.
