The early twentieth century Arts & Crafts homes of Western North Carolina inspired the material sensibility of this home. The plan and form are intentionally organized to promote passive ventilation and connection to the natural setting. Additional design features include intentional day lighting, solar thermal water heating, extensive use of reclaimed and locally sourced natural materials, rain water harvesting, and use of native plants in landscape design.
Stone, pebble dash stucco, board formed concrete, ceramic tile roof, reclaimed heart pine flooring, architectural heavy timber, and reclaimed mill tongue and groove decking.
