Greenville Renewable Energy Charter School
Greenville, SC
The site selection of a neighborhood retail center is intentional. It offers infrastructure in place, a green field site that doesn’t have to be disturbed, and moderate walkability.
The building design ensures natural daylight for all academic spaces, providing a supportive environment for children’s primary education. Adaptive reuse of an abandoned grocery store includes a day lighting with clerestories, strategically located to minimize the number of sky lights while optimizing light quality in each learning space.
