Ryan McKibben, R.A.

Architect | Project Manager

Ryan is an architect and project manager, working on residential and master planning projects. He earned his BS in Construction at Clemson University and his Master’s in Architecture at Georgia Institute of Technology. Before joining the firm, Ryan had his own architectural practice in Cashiers, NC.

He thrives on sorting out the details of a difficult set of challenges and goals, and landing on an innovative solution worthy of construction.

I’m an athlete and have enjoyed competing in individual and team sports — including tennis, soccer, basketball, golf, football, ultimate frisbee and cycling. I also play guitar and lose myself in the rhythms of classic rock and new riffs.

Favorite destination
I’m happiest in the heat of a hot summer day, suffering along a winding mountain ascent on my bike (I know the payoff of a high-speed descent is just around the corner).

Recent read
A Gentleman in Moscow, by Amor Towles. I’m fond of the principle of the twice-tolling clock — by noon, one should be finished with work, ready to socialize, and by midnight, one should be at rest. That said, I’m never finished with work by noon, but hope to be one day!

Favorite quote
I don’t have a favorite quote, but this is one I liked from my recent read. “For what matters in life is not whether we receive a round of applause; what matters most is whether we have the courage to venture forth despite the uncertainty of acclaim.”
