New state and local funding help transform the McClaren Medical Shelter

The McClaren Medical Shelter sits next to The McClaren, a high-end, mixed-use development at the intersection of Rhett and Wardlaw in downtown Greenville. The Urban League of the Upstate has worked with the state legislature and City of Greenville to transform this historic building into a center that will promote health and quality of life in the Upstate.

The project will now take a giant step forward, as the Urban League has announced $600,000 in new state and local funding. The McClaren Institute for Health and Quality of Life, once complete, will provide health and wellness services for the area’s underserved population.

JDG is donating architecture and design work to help repair the building and restore the interior and exterior. We’re proud to participate in this project and congratulate the Urban League for their leadership in the community.
